Authenticity
At National Vintage League, we ONLY sell AUTHENTICS.
Period. No ifs, ands or buts.
With over 12 years cumulative experience in buying, selling, collecting and appraising jerseys - we have seen it all. Sand Knit to Champion, Reebok to Nike - we know what we're looking at.
A BIT OF HISTORY
Jerseys were first produced as fan wear in the 1980s. Pioneering brands such as Rawlings and Sand Knit led the market with heavy cloth jerseys sold in catalogues like Sears and East Bay. By the time the 1990s rolled around, Jersey and Fan Apparel was BIG business. Brands like Champion and Starter started producing exclusive lines that were the EXACT SAME as what the players and coaches wore on the field.
Unfortunately, where there is money - there is a usually a seedy black market. The jersey game is no different. In the early 2000s, when Reebok secured the exclusive rights to jersey making from the NFL - fakes and knockoffs from China began to flood the market. The hallmarks were poor stitching, misspelt names and sometimes would just fall apart after one wash.
Sites like eBay, Facebook Marketplace and Etsy are flooded with these fake jerseys, making it very difficult for a fan to shop with confidence. But - we're here to help (see above, under Free Legit Checks).
As two self-confessed jersey nerds - we wanted to establish National Vintage League as alternative to the other expensive options for buying jerseys.
Our items are 100% authentic. We meticulously check jock tags and stitching to ensure that the fakes go where they belong - the bin. After all, this is a shop by two fans - FOR THE FANS.
So yes, your jersey might be from 1981 - but it's gonna be sweet!
